Accessibility Information

Maison Mouton is listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the National Historic Preservation Act (16 U.S.C. 470 et seq.) or is designated as historic under State or local law (§ 36.405 Alterations: Historic preservation.). Thus, we are not able to offer handicap-accessible accommodations since such alterations would destroy the historical significance of the property. However, we are committed to doing whatever we reasonably can to make our property accessible. Therefore, we have added the following accessible features:

• We have a partial covered area for loading and unloading. A parking space closest to the room. Flat surface for maneuvering a wheelchair into the check in desk, the path to the room as well as the room is on one level. 

• One level access to Main House and room

• We have one level entrance into the main house where you check in, a bathroom with grab bars, and the breakfast room with a table the proper height to accommodate a wheelchair.

• All doors are greater than wheelchair requirements, and the room is all one level with grab bars in the bathroom and a low level bed for easy access in and out.
• We are historical, no elevators. The handicap room is in an exterior building.

• Wide door with grab bars

• All areas areas have signage
• We do not currently have anything in Braille, but will get that feature installed

• Double doors to enter and a table of wheelchair height.

• Fleur de lis - low height bed for easy access, mini frig on the floor, and microwave to wheelchair height. bathroom with a stand up shower and grab bars.
